The main component of hair is protein. Eating foods with high protein content can help you prevent hair loss when losing weight. Examples of foods with high protein are chicken, fish, pork and other meat. Protein need is determined by individual activity levels and body weight.
Include in your diet foods like whole grains, fruits and vegetables. According to the National Anemia Action Council, whole grain can help in the prevention of hair loss since it contains iron.
